Another S&W Index Card Character Sheet

It seems that putting your "old school" character sheets onto index cards is all the rage nowadays. I think it's a great idea, what with them being so "stat light" and have seen some great ones.

In particular, my version was inspired by le bulette's and made use of the graphic elements in a full-sized sheet by Thomas Denmark at Original Edition Fantasy. Thanks again for letting me use those!

You can find the PDF here. And the editable Photoshop (psd) file is here. Help yourself if it's of any interest to you.

UPDATED 11/10/10 to add the master file and update the PDF link.

  1. I like this a lot! When we do game demos we've been putting the very basic stats on half-index-cards for the players, but now that some of our players are getting into more advanced play, this will be a good way to upgrade their cards for more information.

One thing I might recommend is regarding the white lettering on the black backgrounds. You may want to stick with bold lettering in those instances. Some printers tend to overblow the black ink and might obscure the print within the black areas. I like the format though. It's very stylish and yet everything is right where you need it.

  2. Thanks for the comments, Spike. As I noted, I just used someone else's elements and reorganized them to a 3x5 for the most part, but I'll take a look and see if I can tweak the white on black text to make it more readable. It looks fine on my printer, but your point is well taken - they all print a little differently.

  3. Seems like the download link is broken, care to upload the character sheet again? Do you have it in a editable format if one would care to translate it?

  4. Sorry about that! Mediafire must have lost it somehow. I've updated the link above to link to a new upload, and added my master Photoshop file with all the layers so you can modify to your hearts content. I want to make some changes to it myself since the text in the black boxes does come out a bit hard to read when printed on an inkjet printer. Added to my to-do list...
